The M400 is the best of both worlds – affordability & functionality. It has a lot of the more advanced training features that Polar watches are known for too despite costing significantly less than than the V800 or RS800.
I have a V800 and got an M400 for my girlfriend and I really like it. It’s a lot lighter than the V800 (rubber/plastic body vs. steel), gives lots of little rewarding messages + keeps track of PRs (most calories burned, farthest run, etc) all on the watch. It also uploads wirelessly to your phone like the V800.
It has everything you need and nothing you don’t.

I’m not sure how to review the Polar m400. The use of the watch is seemingly straight forward. The daily goal is a bit odd, it’s seemingly based off a question & hours. As an athlete I thought one goal is to beat your time. So I don’t have a firm understanding of the goal.
The watch won’t tell you when it’s fully charged. I typically use the usb cable to charge the watch. There was something about relying on the pc software to tell you it was 100% charged.
I’ve never seen the app track sleep. The android Flow app does have a box for sleep. Though I’ve never seen it filled in.
As for the H7 heart rate strap. I’ve seen it drop out and give me an alarming high pulse rate. Though is only happened for a brief time while logging my work out.
Over all the Polar m400 does work as intended. There are just a few issues that should not be. I’m hoping the app becomes more user friendly. In regards to the ease of reading back logs.
